Prologic and Hays CISD Join Project Team for Limited Production Release of Texas Student Data System Dashboard
TEAMS Student Management districts continue to contribute to the development of the TSDS.
Prologic Technology Systems, Inc. (Prologic) is partnering with Hays Consolidated Independent School District (Hays CISD), Region 10 Education Service Center, Region 13 Education Service Center, and Double Line Partners, Inc. (Double Line) to compose the project team for the Texas Education Agency’s limited production release of the Texas Student Data System (TSDS) dashboard project. This project, which is being funded by the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, is the next phase in the TSDS development of the Education Data Warehouse for future statewide deployment. The project starts in February 2012 and will run through January 31, 2013.
Hays CISD, which uses TEAMS Student Management as its student information system (SIS), will be working district-wide with the limited production release of the dashboard. The dashboard is being developed by Double Line to provide actionable data at the student, campus, and district levels. Educators can use powerful data snapshots to make decisions, identify students at risk, predict graduation rates, and continuously improve student performance. Additionally, a goal of the Education Data Warehouse is to make data collection easier for districts and to improve data quality, particularly data associated with the state’s Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) submissions. As part of this project, Hays CISD will create periodic data submissions for the limited production release of the Education Data Warehouse for comparison to current PEIMS submissions.
Prologic will use its expertise with databases and K-12 data elements to create an extractor to extract data from Hays CISD’s SIS and transform it into the files required to power the dashboard. Prologic will also work with Double Line and Region 10 to establish data services to load district data into the Education Data Warehouse, including SIS data and data from other third-party systems. Region 10 will provide hosting, customer support, system support, and technical training for the limited production releases of the dashboard. Region 13 will provide dashboard training to select end-users at Hays CISD.
At Prologic, we are proud of the role we and our TEAMS Student Management clients are filling to help the Texas Education Agency develop the TSDS project. In 2010, TEAMS Student Management was the first SIS to be integrated with the TSDS District Connections Database. The Texas Education Agency successfully integrated it in their first prototype working with Lubbock ISD. Success was attributed to the centralized governance with Human Resources and SIS data in the same relational database. Life School Adding TEAMS Finance Management for Full TEAMS ERP Power
Life School implemented TEAMS Student Management in 2009.
In October 2011, Life School signed with Prologic Technology Systems, Inc. (Prologic) to begin implementation of TEAMS for Finance and Human Resources (TEAMS Finance Management) as its new business information system. Life School, a charter school district located in the Dallas area, implemented TEAMS Student Management in 2009. Once implemented on TEAMS Finance Management, Life School will be running the full TEAMS Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution for its administrative needs.
At the core of the TEAMS ERP is a centralized database, which stores all of the district’s information in one secure location. This TEAMS advantage was key to Life School’s decision to implement the full TEAMS ERP. The district can maximize its return on investment by using the core TEAMS infrastructure to leverage its data and technology across multiple business units within the same software platform to streamline processes and increase efficiency. With the full TEAMS ERP, Life School will have the tools it needs to manage its district in one real-time, Web-based solution and can eliminate many third-party applications.
Another factor in Life School’s decision to proceed with implementing the full TEAMS ERP for all its student and business information needs was the relationship the district has built with Prologic over the past several years. The district knows it can count on Prologic to provide responsive solutions and outstanding customer service, and with the full TEAMS ERP, Life School will have one vendor and one point of contact for its administrative solution.
TEAMS Finance Management is the intelligent business information system designed for and with school districts. Finance modules enable districts to efficiently manage complex processes from vendor management to procurement to district warehouses, with all transactions tracked for the General Ledger. Human Resources modules give districts a real-time, global solution that can eliminate paper processes and redundant data entry. With a real-time solution, administrators have the most current data possible for budget forecasting, and the TEAMS ERP enables administrators to save an endless number of “what-if” scenarios to create projections for analysis during the budgeting process.
Life School has campuses in Lancaster, Cedar Hill, Oak Cliff, Red Oak, and Waxahachie, Texas, and serves approximately 4,000 students. The mission of Life School is to train leaders with life skills for the twenty-first century by establishing strong academics, character training, and a parenting program.
Georgetown ISD Starting 2011-2012 School Year With Confidence in Prologic and TEAMS Student Management
District fully implemented TEAMS Student Management over Winter Break in the 2010-2011 school year.
On November 1, 2010, the Board of Trustees of Georgetown Independent School District (GISD) unanimously approved TEAMS Student Management by Prologic Technology Systems, Inc, (Prologic) as its new Student Information System (SIS) to replace a system GISD had implemented in August 2010. The challenge for Prologic was that GISD needed to be fully implemented on an extremely aggressive timeline—by January 4, 2011, when teachers and staff returned from Winter Break.
With Prologic's experienced Project Management Team working closely with GISD staff and a product that is a next-generation solution designed specifically for the K-12 market, Prologic provided GISD with the full implementation required to ensure the district was ready to begin the second term of the year on a reliable SIS. The district stopped using their previous SIS on December 15, 2010, and began using all modules in TEAMS Student Management on January 4, 2011. Teachers returned from Winter Break and began using TEAMS' integrated Gradebook to manage their assignments and grades. Counselors processed end-of-term scheduling changes through TEAMS. Staff now had the ability to reconcile state attendance reports and state reported data. And for the first time during the 2010-2011 school year, parents and guardians could finally see their students' data on the Parent Portal.
The district's transition to TEAMS Student Management was smooth. With the 2011-2012 school year starting, GISD staff and teachers are now old pros with TEAMS and ready for their first full year using this powerful, single database application. This year, GISD has confidence in their SIS and in the outstanding support and service they receive from Prologic.
TEAMS Student Management provides school districts with an off-the-shelf implementation of a solution that is industry intelligent. Because Prologic designed TEAMS from the ground up with the help of school districts, the system does not require customization. And the system is built on a modern technological foundation of J2EE standards, open systems architecture, and a central, normalized database. This gives districts a real-time solution that is scalable to growth and adaptable to change. The system is also a 100% Web-based, which means it is easily deployed and easily accessed district-wide or remotely. The system is flexible and strives for an intuitive, easy-to-use interface. All of these factors contributed to the speed with which Prologic was able to implement TEAMS at GISD.

Brazosport ISD Preparing to Go Live on Full TEAMS ERP Solution
District is implementing the TEAMS ERP as its single database solution for HR, Finance, and Student data.
In September 2010, the Brazosport Independent School District (BISD) announced that it had selected the TEAMS ERP by Prologic Technology System, Inc., (Prologic) to be its education administrative solution for human resources, finance, and student data.
Prologic's experienced Project Management Team has been working closely with BISD staff to successfully implement TEAMS and prepare district staff and teachers for a smooth transition. BISD has implemented TEAMS Human Resources modules and has processed its initial paycheck run from TEAMS. BISD will go live on TEAMS Student Management with the start of the 2011-2012 school year and will go live on TEAMS Finance Management on September 1, 2011.
With TEAMS, BISD has a real-time, 100% Web-based solution designed specifically for the K-12 market. At the core of this design is a single relational database. Because the system uses one database, BISD only needed to purchase one server for its TEAMS deployment, and all BISD's information — regardless of module — will be stored in this one secure location. For example, the Position Inventory and Master Schedule are in the same database and can communicate in real-time. Data is immediately accessible across departments district-wide as soon as it is entered. BISD will be able to eliminate redundant data entry processes, and administrators can be sure their reports reflect the most current student, staff, and finance information.
The ability for districts to use the power of the single shared database to leverage its data is what Prologic calls The Power of One.
